All things must have a cause; what is the first cause?
Where do I get my values from? What is the first principle?
What is the first belief, the self-evident idea from which I can build a foundation of certain knowledge?

These questions are isomorphic, as are the structures they question — and they all have the same answer, if you can call it that.

The world is incompatible with simple certainty. You live with ambiguity or you do not live at all.
